Introduction

Hi everyone,

My name is Rebecca all the way from Lagos, Nigeria, I am 30 years old, I love travelling to new places and meeting new people. I have been to 7 countries so far and 19 cities in total, so far, my favourite city remains Paris, don’t ask how come, even I don’t know why!

I am a development economist and a passionate writer. I attended all of my higher educations in England, so I like to think I have an English sense of humor, although, I am very African.

I blog about economic policies, politics and generally anything development related with focus on Africa, mostly Nigeria. I eventually see myself in government as a minister for development, but I also know I have a memoir or two inside of me. I guess what I am trying to say is I am an aspiring writer and I write about my personal experience.

In my spare time, I blog anonymously about my experiences as a single girl in the big city of Lagos for a friend’s blog called singleingidi .  Lately, I developed the courage to write about my personal experience as an unloved and unwanted daughter of a Nigerian mother who is in denial that she has been nothing but a loving mother and how I had to come to a point in my life where I walked away from so-called family, in order to maintain sanity.

Lately, I developed the courage to write about my personal experience as an unloved and unwanted daughter of a Nigerian mother who is in denial that she has been nothing as I had to come to a point in my life that I walked away from so-called family, in order to maintain sanity and give myself a chance at happiness and creating my own experience outside of abuse.

When I came across this platform, I thought perfect, maybe I can share my story on a bigger platform as such platforms in Nigeria and Africa in generally as too ashamed to give such story a voice, because our society thrives on shaming the victim.

I look forward to understanding how this platform works.

Rebecca
